I'm Al-Amin Kabir, an accounting professional based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and an incoming MS in Accountancy student at the University of Rochester Simon Business School.

I was born in Jashore, Bangladesh, finished SSC and HSC there, then moved to Dhaka for a BBA in Accounting (National University) and, later, a Master of Marketing from the University of Dhaka. The mix of accounting discipline plus brand and operator thinking has shaped almost everything I do.

In January 2015 I co-founded Marketever, a Dhaka-based firm, with local partners. I lead the accounts and operations function: bookkeeping, financial reporting, and internal compliance. The firm is fully based and operated in Bangladesh. Earlier in my career, during BBA, I served as Finance & Operations Coordinator at DevsTeam Limited, a student-driven skill-development venture in Dhaka.

In Fall 2026, I'm joining the University of Rochester Simon Business School for an MS in Accountancy (STEM-designated), a graduate program focused on advanced study in financial accounting, audit, and analytics. I plan to complete the program and return to Bangladesh to apply what I learn at home.

Outside of accounting, I tinker with small personal learning projects, read about the craft, and travel - 35 countries and counting across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, always on short visits and always returning home to Dhaka.
